[ALLDERDICE HIGH SCHOOL] On Friday December 1st, the Allderdice Boys basketball team opened up the 2023-2024 season by defeating the Montour High School Spartans with a final score of 59-51. The Dragons got off to a quick 13-6 lead and did not look back. Despite the Spartans’ efforts, they could not keep up with the Dragons, lead by senior Logan Golle who had 18 points for Allderdice, shooting ⅝ from beyond the field, which is good for 63%, along with a 8/11 night at the foul line.

Other notable performances include double digits from Jack Segall, who had 11 points, in a 4/11 effort from the field and 3/6 from three. Senior Major Rainey, had 13 points along with Pavle Slepcev who had 9. Mayaan Kohai took just 1 shot, but it was good for three.

Montour Spartans (0-1) are set to face South Fayette Lions (1-0) in a non conference battle, as they look to bounce back from their loss. Meanwhile, the Dragons (1-0) are set to play the Gateway Gators on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:30 pm in the Allderdice Gym. Gateway is 1-1 on the season with a 51-43 overtime win against Fox Chapel, followed by a 58-49 loss to Upper Saint Clair. Allderdice looks to keep it rolling and build momentum into the Holiday Hoops Classic at PPG Paints Arena, before finally taking on Brashear in about a month to begin conference play.
